Advanced Careers Skill Workshops | ACPE Degree + Career Management Skills = Employment Success

The Advanced Career Skill Workshops build on the content introduced in the Foundation Career Skills workshops. These workshops are designed to build on your understanding and advance your knowledge of the topic to the next level. Students are not required to attend the foundation workshops before attending the Advanced Career Skill Workshops, however you may find it useful.

The Advanced Career Skill Workshop series will look like:

Week 3 l Wednesday 14th August l 12-12:30pm, Room G.02

Topic: Career Readiness

This workshop will provide an insight into the process of job applications and encourage students to begin thinking about their ‘personal branding’ and how this can influence their career pathway. It will also help you build your confidence in providing strong responses to interview questions and ensure you are presenting yourself in a positive manner.

Week 6 l Wednesday 4th September l 12-12:30pm, Room G.02

Topic: How to communicate effectively on LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a social media site that is primarily used for business purposes. Therefore, your communications and connections should be professional yet authentic to your personality. This workshop will help you learn how to communicate effectively to strengthen your job search while looking for your dream job.

Week 9 l Wednesday 25th September l 12-12:30pm, Room G.02

Topic: Employability Skills Workshop

Employers prefer candidates with a wide range of employability skills to supplement their job-specific skills and study. Learn what these skills are, how to identify those you have to offer, and how to build upon them.

Week 12 l Wednesday 23rd October l 12-12:30pm, Room G.02

Topic: Guest Speaker

Come along and hear from an industry professional who will discuss their career in detail and share some advice around steps you can take to get to where you want to be. Our guest speaker will cover the key topics discussed throughout the workshop and provide a valuable insight around career development. We will share who our guest speaker is in week 6.
